Plant Name: Bulbophyllum hortorum 'Dr. Ong Tjing An' CBR/AOS Species
Description: One fleshy flower on one upright, 4.2-cm inflorescence borne on a rambling 11.0-cm tall plant grown in a 15 .0-cm wide by 30.0-cm long by 8.0-cm tall plastic basket; dorsal sepal cream spotted and blotched maroon along veins, light golden reverse randomly spotted maroon; lateral sepals cream on superior half, blotched maroon proximally becoming finely spotted maroon distally along veins, inferior half light gold, finely spotted proximally, reverse gold brushed maroon basally, spotted and barred along veins distally; petals cream blotched maroon along veins, reverse spotted maroon along veins; lip gold on basal half, blotched maroon basally, mobile distal half tongue shaped cream, finely spotted maroon on both sides; column gold blotched maroon, anther cap gold overlaid brown; substance very firm; texture semi-glossy; recognized for never before seen species with pleasing pattern on the flower. Bulbophyllum tortum , award 20132322, has been determined to be Bulbophyllum hortorum by SITF(June 2015). Exhibitor: Gin Gan |
